Successful media buying requires a complete understanding of terms such as all persons 18+, cost per grp, central market area, knowing the difference between readership and ridership among other things, but most of all it is about being able to negotiate the lowest possible and most cost-effective price on behalf of the client. An experienced buyer will not only know what the going rate for that particular media is in each individual market, but whenever possible will encourage competition for their client’s advertising dollars. It is imperative to remember that it is the media representative’s job to charge the highest possible rate for whatever they are selling and it is MBC’s job to pay the lowest! We negotiate for you.
